Incision whoes.

Hey DSers! Just checking in, hoping someone can offer some advice.  Two of my incisions are still oozing a bit.  Mostly at night, could it be that I'm doing too much during the day? Or is it still pretty normal at four weeks out? The Dr. said as long as it doesn't look infected I have nothing to worry about.  It doesn't look infected, but it does look aggrevated.  It's a little hard around it, slightly red, and tender if touched.

Thanks.

It's better to have the doc, or a doc, look at them and make sure. It's probably nothing, but nobody can know that for sure here. What I consider absolutely nothing (I have pretty hard sensibilities about wound stuff) would be worthy of a doctor visit, and someone else would be convinced they were abscessed when it's nothing but a bit of serous fluid draining.

If it is kind of hard around it it could actually a Seroma, that's what happened to me and the surgeon drained with a syringe a couple of times. After that just kept it covered so the fluids wouldn't get on my clothes. It took over a month to heal completely.

hang in there.

I had an open revision and my incisions oozed, etc for 5 weeks. I thought they'd never heal, but they did.

HI there.
I had my DS surgery open on 2/24 and my main incision is still oozing at the bottom. I don't have a whole lot of advice, just thought I'd let you know that you are not alone.

Ouch... Have you tried to stick gauze over it and keep it dry to scab it up?
