Had my DS Revision 3 years ago! (update and pictures)
I've never posted photos on here before, so I'm hoping it works!
I had my DS revsion with Dr. Greenbaum on April 7, 2008, so I decided to post and give an update. Of course, I've not posted in forever, although I still get on and read. I'll share my story, briefly, in hopes that it might offer encouragement for others.
I have struggled with my weight my ENTIRE life and have struggled with morbid obesity since forever. When I was 15, I had a VBG done and lost about 100 pounds. I kept the weight off for about 5 minutes and then started gaining back, plus more. I could hardly eat meat for years and threw up for over 20 years.
My husband had had the DS with Dr. Smith in 2007 and had been dropping tons of weight, so I began research a VBG to DS revision.
Long story short, I had a DS revision with Dr. Greenbaum and I have lost 207 pounds. My pre-surgery weight was 367.8 and right now, I'm holding at around 160 pounds. Life has changed for the better in so many ways. I have so much more energy at work (third grade teacher) and I have the energy to be a mom. My husband and I are both so much happier. (He's lost 264 pounds, by the way)
I'm faithful to my vitamins and eat lots of protein, and I have had no issues or complications. I am so grateful for the DS and feel blessed to have had this surgery. If you are considering the DS, do it! It will change your life. By the way, the lowest weight I got down to after my VBG many years ago was 164, so I am actually at my lowest weight ever. I've always weighed well over 300 pounds, so life it certainly much better!
Take care,
Stephanie

I remember you well, and holey moley - you look like a little kid!!!!! I saw your "thin" pic and thought that it was a picture of your son and daughter, and I realized it was you!! I'm so glad you're doing well. Beautiful boxer, by the way! Aren't they funny pups? I had a 1/2 boxer 1/2 rott and he was a barrel full of monkeys!
