Wow, do I ever have an ironic life...

Not long ago, I came here asking you guys how to become the kind of person that craves physical exercise.  I have always *wanted* to be one of "those" atheletic people...but just seemed to lack the staying power.  I have found very few exercise programs that keep me interested or motivated and the gym is a joke for me. I was convinced I was going to be the lazy chick for life.

Well, get this change of heart!  I've been doing Zumba now for 6 solid weeks, 5 times each week.  Wanna know what I was doing last night?  Searching the Zumba.com website on area workshops to get qualified to be a Zumba instructor!!!  It looks like I could do it in May or June, I think I'm going to opt for the June workshop if I get the balls to do this.  Here's the thing, I'm still learning...and I'm still tripping over my feet at times, but I'm inspired you guys! Who knows if I'm even coordinated enough to do all of this, especially since I've had ZERO formal training in dance.  Who is this chick's body I'm living inside of?  Between my divorce, caring for my three children all alone and discovering just how strong I am, and becoming this exercise-aholic, I'm not even sure if I know myself anymore.  I think I just might like this new girl that I'm discovering, perhaps she was simply burried under here all along!

My plan is to attend as many different Zumba classes as possible with different instructors so that I can get better coordination to prepare myself.  Apparently the one day workshop is like death, something similar to, but even more intense than being on the show, "The Biggest Loser."  I don't know if I'll go through with it, but it would sure be nice to get paid to do something I love!!!

Zumba is great fun! So, if you're going to be an instructor, you gotta master those moves! lol.

You are so amazing Lori, truly you are... a lot of people would play the woe is me card, but you grabbed it by the balls and took off running, or should I say Zumba-ing. Good for you!

That would be great!  I'm such a loser that I Youtube zumba classes and demos just to watch how the rest of the world does it, LOL.   If you haven't already done so - check out some of the Latin American zumba videos - they make us look like a bunch of morons, LOL.
My class that I take is a combo of zumba/cardio kickbox and step.   I wish I could find all zumba, but I'd have to travel to take it.

Wow!! Go ON wit yer bad self!! That's fantastic, Lori!

Me? I lasted about 5 minutes in Zumba. I thought that I would LOVE it because I do belly dance, and African dance, and adore all kinds of ethnic rhythms. I HATED Zumba. The class was so packed that I felt like I was going to run over people as we ran this way and that, and the instructor was giving absolutely no guidance whatsoever.  I'm that way about all kinds of aerobics though. I need more personal space than a crowded class like that can give me.

Lori-

Way to go!

I know exactly how you feel!  My DS inspired me to become a RD.  I'll be in school for a while...but I have the PASSION for it, just like you do with Zumba!

Go for it, Lori!

BTW - missed you at the DS Dinner!

I have wanted to try Zumba, guess I'm going to have to. So many of my friends have tired it and loved it. I'm glad to hear your so gung ho on it. Good for you, its so easy to do something you love.

Yeah for you.
