Lexapro & DS

Hey Guate Wife, I really appreciate your story.  The only thing that has worked for me as well all this time was Xanax, and when my primary reduced the daily dose, that's when my anxiety came back full force so I decided to see a psychiatrist again.  Hoping it works for me.  Sigh.  Sucks, but seems like Xanax is the only thing that works.  Hoping we can tweak it to find a good dose for me with the malabsorption issue.  I'll keep you posted.  Good luck with yours and keep me posted. -Maria

I take Lexapro and it works fine for me.
I also take it for anxiety. I was off everything pre-surgery, but after surgery really struggled.

There DO need to be more studies, I agree. I think as the DS comes more into the spotlight, we will see that happen. But of course, that doesn't help now, does it?

*hugs*

Awww Mommy2006, thanks for the hugs, I need them.  GAD sucks big time!!!  I really do think that more studies will happen, but it sucks now.  Geez, if I had gone for my doctoral in psychiatry instead of psychology I'd have done a study on that.  As it is I haven't even taken psychopharmacology yet so I'm a bit lost here...I just know malabsorption is an issue.  Thanks again!!!

I've had to double and max out a couple of my meds too.  My anxiety has been out of control for the past couple months.  I asked the doctor to put me back on Lexapro but she just doubled my Abilify.  I'm hoping that helps, but so far nothing.

Kaffy, I hope they can tweak it for you to find some relief.  I'm with you there in feeling frustrated.  Let's keep our fingers crossed something gives.  I had no idea this thread was going to generate this much interest.  I could've sworn it was covered before and that something was found.  Ah, well.
