Keep in mind you are male and your body can probably take the extra carbs better than many of the ladies.  You have more lean body mass as a male than a typical woman and men can often be more free with their calories than women.

Will I GAIN if I eat an extra 10g carbs?  Well, probably nothing substantial, but it's really a thing with give and take and control for me.  It's just one of those things I can't ignore or I will gain.  I do have some regain I am dealing with right now.  I went a little buckwild on fruit and cookies this winter and stopped exercising and gained somewhere in the realm of 10-15 pounds over the past...eh, 6 months?  I really do want it gone and I am cutting out the "excess" stuff that I don't need.

Becky - does that mean you are taking 6,000 grams of calcium a day? Didnt she say it was 1,000 grams for 2 Tbsp for 10 carbs?

Would that be a waste though to take the 1,000 at once? I thought someone said we only absorb 500 grams at a time?

I was thinking that Vitalady (Michele) said that 1,000 = 300 elemental (what we actually absorb).

Lisa, I take 6,ooo cal. cit. a day and night and sometimes pop more. I do not have any ost going on and I don't want it. Trying to be preventive. I am 51, and midlife is where it seems to most women to go by by, I think. *****ally knows  how much we absorb? I pop a extra just in case with each dose. Karen

My doctor feels the same.   I kind of mix it up - I take some liquid, some chewable, some tablet and some calcium hydroxyapatite.

I take about 3,000 mg of MCHC a day - sometimes 4,000, and another 2,000 or so of other types.   I got my calcium up into normal ranges.   The MCHC really alleviates the constipation problem.    Still struggling with the D though.

I thought I would let you all know that I wrote to the ReViva folks and told them about my (our) situation with carbs.  Granted, they don't know how much calcium some of us ingest but here's my email to them and their reply.

I just purchased your Calcium Citrate for the first time and am very impressed! I purchased it at Costco in Austin, TX. I wish you sold at non-club stores!!!
What other products do you think Healthy Brands should consider developing or selling?
I had a duodenal switch in November. Its a type of weight loss surgery. Naturally, because of the malabsorption, I will be on vitamin supplements for the rest of my life. Small price to pay! This is the PERFECT supplement for people who have had this surgery. Your calcium is the exact type we need to absorb because its more readily absorbed. My one suggestion would be to make a sugar free version without sugar alcohols. Possibly use stevia or even Splenda. While I am willing to use the product with sugar and more carbs, some of my fellow DS'ers are passing this product by because it has 10g carbs and we try to limit ourselves to 50g carbs per day. I've already been on our support website bragging about this product!!!
Comments:
I will be trying your multi-vite next but your calcium combo is PERFECT. Way to go!

Good Day Darcy:

On behalf of Healthy Brands, the team behind LIQUID ReViva, thank you for reaching out to us.

Also, thank you for the kind words about our Calcium.

We tried a sugar free option, but were not able to deliver it in a delicious way - which is critical. Personally, I am a diabetic - so I understand more than anyone the importance of restricting carbs and simple sugars. The good news, is that in this matrix, only four grams of simple sugars are expressed. Unknown to most, acids are technically a carbohydrate - and that's where the rest of the carbs come form - and cid forms of carbohydrates do not reflect the same insulin production factors...

Again, thanks for the kind words. If you prefer to purchase online - we are now at costco.com (just an FYI).

Stay Healthy My Friend,

FYI - their multi is not near enough for what we need but would be a good multi supplement in addition to what we already take.  I'm sure, however, that it does have some sugar and some carbs if is anything like its sister product.

If you want to see their 2 products they are at www.revivanutrition.com.
