Foods You Avoid

Well, I did not used to avoid anything, nor did I practice moderation...hence my regain and failure to get to goal.

So now, I am on very low carbs and I have decided to avoid white flour, pasta, candy bars, pop, and refined breads at all cost. The bloating and the smell is not worth the taste.

I love onions, but raw onion doesnt sit so well. Otherwise I can pretty much eat anything.

The only things that bother me are white rice and pasta.  I can eat whole wheat pasta just fine, but plain old pasta makes me really crampy and gassy.

White flour. No bread, buns, pasta, or tortillas for me. I learned that I can have corn flour, corn chips, corn tortillas  and egg pasta.

Sucralose
AKA Splenda - used as sweetener in protein shakes (among other things). My solution for my favorite whey isolate protein shake? Asked the company to send me natural unsweetened. Problem solved 30g of protein, 0 carbs per glass.

I've only had 3 things bother me post op. One is carbonated beverages, two is Little Caesars breadsticks, and three is whole wheat tortillas. I can eat everything else with no pain at all.  As far as foods I avoid just because I want to, I avoid sweets. I don't really have a craving for them at all anymore, so if I do eat any, it's just 1 or 2 bites. I do my best not to fill up on a ton of sugars.

If I eat flour I look 8 months pregnant. Do I avoid it totally? Nope and I pay the price. I just stay at home when I do it. LOL :)

Carbs. If too many...........................hello!

Sugar alcohols. Lord I might as well eat them on the toilet.

OMG do I eat anything?????? Well, I do but like I said the joke is when I want that brownie my family says just take it to the bathroom. *le sigh*

Pastries.  :(

Refined flour products hated me for over 2 years.  Well, ok, they still kinda hate me!

Really, anything with flour was bad news bears for me the first year.  The breading on chick fil a chicken nuggets used to give me dhr all night long after I ate them.  I can eat them fine now -- no pain.

I'm at the point where I can eat flour in public and still be composed, but they used to send me into fetal position and makes me just want to take a nap, so I avoided them when I was in public and especially at work.

pasta, white flour and sugar alcohols. i cant drink regular milk, only heavy cream, half and half and good ice cream, i used to love the naked protein drinks but i notice they make me crampy and gassy, i cant eat cheap ice cream, sometimes i have problems with rice, some protein drinks make me gassy, bread must have a lot of butter or i feel weighted down and gassy.too much wheat will bother me also but i can eat it sometimes, i can eat cake but i just dont enjoy it much any more, i cant eat a lot of lettuce, like rice its bathroom time! only soft greens like spinach, i dont bother with sandwiches and wraps i just eat the inside.

Lettuce and garlic - which is just WRONG!!! It's the all night barf-o-rama and then the loud, noxious butt tuba the next day. However, I'm not even 2 months out so I have hope that there will be repercussion-free caesar salads in my future.
