Alcohol - kinda piggy back from the other alcohol topic
What is the "best" drink you have had with your DS?
I am getting married on June 3rd, I will be almost 9 months out.
I have not had any alcohol yet, kind of wondering if I shoudl experiment a little before the big day.
Is there one type of drink that you tolerate better than others, beer, wine, mixed drinks, etc?
I am not going to be "carb counting" that day, but I also want to make sure I am not crapping my brains out for 2 days afterwards
Thanks for the suggestions and advice

My advice is toast with something other than booze. You still arent a good year out.
Also there is a good chance that you may react differently every time you have a drink and different alcohols will affect you differently as well.

My "safe bet" is vodka, diet tonic and extra lime. Not a whole lot of carbs so it doesn't cause me any gastric issues. I've tried sweet drinks a few times (margaritas, amaretto sour, and a mojito) and those did NOT work well for me. I ended up having a strange issue with fainting both times I had sweet drinks, but they didn't cause gas or bloating either. I can drink beer, champagne, white, red or blush wines without issue as well, but those all tend to have more carbs than I care to drink. I only make exception for red wine because of the heart benefits of it, but I still limit it to a glass or two a week. Oh, I will say, any night I've had a few drinks, the next morning is like a total bowel cleanse (sorry TMI!) so be prepared for that, LOL!
LOL thanks Bean! I have some wine in the fridge at home that I keep for guests. I think I will start with a glass of that and see what happens!
I thought maybe a no or low sugar juice with vodka might be a good option at the wedding. That will be my next experiment..
Its hard because I have ALWAYS been a beer drinker and I have a feeling it would make me feel really bloated now... but then again I haven't tried it either!
I am just being a chicken ****!

Gingerale? Alcohol-free bubbly? I say you don't have to toast with alcohol. I think my only concern would be the stress of the day I see brides go through where they have not eaten- let alone hydrated- and how that in itself would relate to your tolerance. I don't think the wedding-gods will forsake your marriage if there is no alcoholic toast heheh

Oh man. I really would not drink on such a big day. No way.
My first drink was a few sips of a margarita and I had HORRIBLE gas and bloating. The worst I have EVER had. I was in the bed in pain for hours. The I farted for a decade.
I would wait until you are home and settled and try a little alcohol in your own home where you can deal with any consequences safely.
