Year surgiversary...long, navel gazing, & photo whoring!
I love posts like this! I just found my 1 year surgiversary entry in my diary and what a ride. It only gets better! Friends - I know what you are saying. Some don't know how to relate to the new you. Most of mine are still with me though! I used to get a kick out of people not recognizing me but was saddened when someone I really like did not know who I was (and she had seen me since my surgery).
The weight loss may continue a bit but don't worry. It levels out and gets to a "normal" setting for you. Thing is, we often think our "overweight" status is normal for us. My BMI is slap dab in the middle of normal. It was low but now it is fine.
Keep going - and enjoy this ride. Sorry about your losses over this year. You are still the same person dealing with the human stuff!

With the DS: there is no stoma, so no stoma strictures; there are no limitations (other than volume) against drinking before, during or after meals; 80% of ingested fat is malabsorbed; 98.9% of type II diabetics are CURED of this devastating disease, with data showing stable cure over 10 years out; there is the best average weight loss and most durable (average 76% excess weight loss going out 10 years) of all of the bariatric surgeries. That's why I had a DS!
