Pros/Cons the DS vs. Distal RNY?
You might want to also read the following artical at medscape from NAASO which compares the statistics of the different wls. It doesn't however mention the quality of life issues which can't be beat with the DS. Any distal proceedure is said to cause gas not just the DS but many with proximals report the same problems. DS is gastric reduction with distal RNY intestinal hook up. In the DS the stomach configuration was designed to prevent problem like strictures, dumping, ulcers and allow better absorption of intrinsic factor for Vitamin B, Iron and Calcium. The gas really isn't to bad if managed with probiotics and watching flour just like pre wls IMHO.

Frankly I think your attitude stinks. I wished you a *good day* and come back with your mouth flapping, as usual. Can't you ever be nice to people you call the RNY'ers???

You know what MS BATT... I don't really give a rip what YOU think of me. YOU have done NOTHING BUT INSULT from the very first time you ever posted to me. I think you are a rude, arrogant, person... and you have NO RIGHT to be so rude and ugly all the time to people. I have not said anything to you... so back off!!!!!!! I didn't say or do anything wrong and I am sick and tired of your unwarranted personal attacks on me!!! Get a life!
Got a life already, and am enjoying it completely! I wish you had one, too. (*grin*)
Y'know, I AM rather rude and arrogant when I reply to your posts---because pretty much every post you've EVER made here has been derogative and demeaning of the DS. You came here dissing me and the form of WLS I chose, so---why should you expect me to be kind and loving towards you?
I'm NOT "rude and ugly all the time to people"---just to you, and people LIKE you. The attacks I've made really aren't "personal attacks on you"---they're attacks on the misinformation you spout.
Sorry you've got your panties in a wad. Pick 'em out of your butt and get over it.

Now you know that you are OUTRIGHT LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH!!! I have not EVER dissed ANYONE at all for choosing DS over the RNY. The DS is MY OWN PREFERENCE!!! And I have bluntly and openly said that here on THIS board, the MAIN board, the LAP BAND board, and the OH CHAT ROOM. I am the one who is constantly trying to point out that there are people being FORCED to have the RNY by the insurance companies... I am not against the RNY, it IS the best choice for some people ... let me say that, but I do not every try to get someone NOT to choose the DS. I point people to THIS board to talk to you all... and I pass on links about the DS to those who ask for them. So, you can stop lying and trying to make yourself look like you are in the right because you are not... You really need to lay off... your rude remarks have been pointed directly at me, you outright call me names all the time... there is no reason for this... it's time for you to grow up.
Oh, yeah, I'm the liar here. (*grin*) I'M the one *****cently pointed out that several weeks back you were here on the DS board, hot and heavy to have the DS, but got denied by your insurance carrier---and when I recently posted this, challenging your new-found fervour for the RNY, YOU called me an OUTRIGHT LIAR, if I remember correctly. Yet today, you're admitting that the DS was indeed your first choice. (Ironic, ain't it?)
Yes, many of my 'remarks' HAVE been pointed directly at you, because they *needed* to be. You need to figure our for youself exactly where you DO stand regarding the various forms of WLS. Personally, *I* think that there is no 'one size fits all', and that everyone should learn as much as possible about ALL of them before making his or her own personal decision.
