can a friend tell me what's the difference?

can some one tell me what's the difference in the surgery. and which one is the best. and does the doctor make the choice or do you? Thanks if anyone can help.

Hi, I am having the RYN laproscopic I believe that the laproscopic surgery is much less invasive than the open surgery. But other than that they are all major surgery. So read up on them at this site and then decide what you want> Best of luck to you Marian S.C.

Hi Tippy, I originally went to my consult with the tought of Lap RNY, after the full consult form the surgeon he explained all procedures with pros and cons. I changed my mind and decided on open RNY, so that I could receive the micropouch with less chance of pouch stretching. With the Wood-Sapala micropouch he explained that the difference in pouch size is that of a grape with the micropouch ans a small lemon with the lap RNY. I think once you talk to your surgeon you will be able to decide which one you think is best for you. Or look at the site in the last post. Sorry so long. DIVA
