Wow...... Your assuming I didnt do my due dilligence in fighting with my insurance company, your assuming I made the decision to go to Mexico over night, your assuming I havent been working through this process for a year and your assuming Dr. Aceves has a fold out table and a rusty knife.....
I'll tell you what, If you can find ANYTHING negative about Dr. Aceves or Hospital Almater in Mexicalli, Mexico. I will cancel my surgery.

I am concerned about the sterilization procedures as well as the monitoring for infection and for induced sleep. What is your insurance as mine wouldn't cover it either until there was a little work and then it paid. I am not telling you anything and I understand the costs, but am hopping you will think about this.

I had my RNY done on 3-8-1999.
I remember feeling so nervous to have it done, but at the same time, I couldn't wait to get it over with.
Now I realize that this post is way after your surgery date and you are several months post-op now, but I hope that you are both doing well.
I'm in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and would love to get to know both of you. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions as I will answer them from my own personal experience that I have had with the RNY procedure and also from the perspective of a family member since my Mom had it done in 1988 by the same doctor that performed my surgery! :)

Because Dr. Aceves is one of the most experienced sleeve doctors, he is very highly recommended and it is half the price of anything here in the states. My insurance does not cover weight loss surgery so I had to pay out of pocket.

Hello Charlene, I am having Vertical sleeve gastrectomy in Mexicali Mexico with Dr. Aceves on May 3rd. I will be flying from Atlanta to San Diego, CA on May 2nd to start my journey.
