Hi. I am 66 and from Canada also, though in easten BC. I had my surgery a month ago and am feeling great. My health issues are diabetis, high bp and arthritic hips. Since my surgery I haven't had to take any bp meds, and I've gone from 5 diabetis pills a day to 1 in the last week. I still have stiff hip, although as my weight comes off, I can move easier which is good for it. I'd love to correspond with you as there are no bariatric support groups near Cranbrook, and we have age in common.

Hi Maryanne, I would love to have a penpal who is closer to my surgical date, within a few months, also... I'm just at the end of two weeks now, so the pain, etc. (that I have) is much better. I had people in my pre-procedure classes who were fine within 2-3 days and walking around, etc. I am a little more of a difficult case as I also have chronic pancreatitis, a digestive system illness, if you are not medical. Sometimes I may switch over to medical speak from being a nurse since 1988! Sorry if I do that, I am the patient now! Debbie/ShrinkingDaisy
