Hi.  My name is Sherri.  I have just been approved by my insurance for RNY gastric bypass.  I don't have a date yet though (yes I am trying to be patient).  I would like to hear from others going through the same thing and from those that have been through it.  I could use a lot of supportive friends and I will be the same for you :)

finally! someone who had the lap band! I hear u girl! some people at work have been down right mean to me about it, they don't understand its a disease and we need a little help. if we were herion addicts we could "just stop"! unfortunatly we can't "just stop" eating or we'd die. they don't understand the distinction. the only ones who objected were "sticks" for me too. they don't get it and it makes me angry sometimes also. I've been out for 3 wks and when i go back to work on monday i don't know what i'll say to some of those sticks, I'm tempted to tell them off. I'm worried in the stress of things like life i'm going to back slide.

Hi! my name is stacie and I got the lap band on 12/13 and am 3 wks out, I frequently have questions but have no one to ask. i have a friend who had GBS but i'm not having the same problems she's had so it's too different to guage what's correct for me. I can't keep bothering the doctors office I know they have thier own jobs to do and thought it would be better to have a friend who's been there and done that.

I too am ready to face the fact that I am not happy to be regaining (about 30) after all that I went through. I never even got my weight to where I had hoped.  I would like to jump on this wagon and hopefully we can support one another inot a happier healthier new year. I too am in PA.
