Hi everyone, I was browsing on the OH web page and recalculated my BMI. After I did this, up popped a weight loss calculation. It claimed that with my weight at 265 and my height at 5'6" my proper weight should be 142. It also said my after surgery goal weight should be 179. It calimed that the weight I would lose would only be 70%. I am looking into the proximal Lap surgery. I am now concerned that I may not lose as much as I want which is 100-125 lbs. Please tell me it's possible with the surgery I'm looking into! From what I have researched and read on peoples profiles has amazed me how much some of them are losing. If they only guarantee 70% how are these people doing it? ThanksVicki

My understanding is that yes the surgery will help you loose 70% of the extra weight you are caring. But with proper diet and exercise you can get to the weight you want to be. The surgery is just a start, an add to help you, it is not a total solution...
