Just moved from Va to Fl and am getting started with my wls process...
and it's moving quickly!
i was all set to have it done when i lived in norfolk (dh is navy, so we have tricare standard), but lost 13lbs before surgery and no longer qualified
now i've gained a few back and am SO READY to get this done.
i'm seeing dr overcash in ocala on monday and the rest of the wk will entail a psych eval and a dr's appt w/my dr, so i can get a letter from her for my ins.
anyone else use this dr with TRICARE STANDARD?
they claim they have no problem with them...but you know, they all want you to think that, right?
if you have used dr overcash, does he ask for $ out of pocket before surgery?
i think those are all of my questions for now.

HI KAS!! Welcome to the Florida boards! I'm an Overcash patient and co-chair of his support group here in Orlando!!! Dr. Overcash is tough but his success rate backs him up because of it. I had United Healthcare and my total out of pocket was $500. He doesnt' require alot of testing or unneccessary fees at all...other than what that particular insurance requires. I only had to do a stress test and 2 letters the rest was provided by my PCP and I was approved in 14 days. We had a support meeting today and would have loved to have met you. We will having another in a week so we can be in touch. We also have an online support group at

Please feel free to join our online group and we hope to meet at our next meeting!
Welcome to florida again!!
