O.T.Anyone here NOT retired been to Venice FL latley??

We are going there on vacation this Thursday for a long weekend vacation. It looks like a retirement community. Does anyone know of any cool/fun things to do w/ the kiddies there besides the awesome beaches there. We are staying at The Plantation Golf & Country Club on Rockley BLVD. , which I hear is right across or near Sharkeys Peir...whatever that is. Thank You
