Hi Melissa, I had surgery on a Wednesday and almost went home on Saturday. Several bouts of nausea and dry heaves kept me their until Monday. I believe most of my nausea was medicine related, so hopefully you wouldn't have those issues. Best Wishes, Patty

I was there from Monday to Saturday. My doctor wanted to make sure everything was A-ok............I hated the hospital stay with a passion. I don't like being confined to a specific place.............but.........such as life and I got over it! Good luck!

I had complications so my stay was about 6 weeks. Be prepared for anything! I planned on 3 days and then home. I didn't even get out of ICU for the first week. My family and I were totally unprepared. My husband didn't even know how to pay the bills online or to check our banking accounts. He was beside himself. Dana P

I checked in Tuesday morning (early) for surgery & was discharged to come home on Friday.so 3 nights in the hospital. My Mom & Dad came down to be here for my surgery and stayed all of the next week so hubby could work and I would not be home alone. I probably would have been OK but it was nice not having to worry about fixing my "food" or hubby having to deal with dinner when he got home. They had wonderful home-cooked "Grandma" meals while I sipped my broth and ate Jello. If you can get the help -take it and enjoy being pampered a bit! Good luck with your journey! Vickie J.
