Alexa, My job is very flexible & I can work from home if they need me, so I took 2 months off. I also take a long time to bounce back from anesthesia so I was in no hurry to get back. If you have a job where you're able to sit a good bit you will probably be fine to go back after a few weeks. Just be prepared for being exhausted after what seems to be very little exertion. I seemed to be very tired for quite a few weeks but that was probably b/c I was anemic after my LBL. Vickie J.

Hey Alexa - cry as much as you want cause those WOW moments need to be cherished. I just flew up to Phila where I was born and I cried all the way up just because I could sit in the seat with my legs crossed. I then cried when my family saw me because of the warm things said to me. You are doing everything you set out to do - enjoy it girl! PS: drop me a line about your p/s I'm sure you're going with someone @ Cleveland clinic. Barbi

Hi Alexa! :-) I am new to the forum and I am just beginning this journey. I don't know where to start. I love this entire thread. All of you ladies are where I want to get to. I am considering LapBanding. Can any of you provide info? I am 35, 235# 5ft 4in. BMI estimate = 41% By the way CONGRATS on the IV! That rocks! Not to mention the 2x4 space. I'm still stuck in the 2x-3x world! LOL. Are you in Nursing school? I have been a RN since 2001. Melissa G. :-p

I started with EMT as well. Good luck in RPM/Fire school. (Have you thought about RN school???) I found my way to the profiles! :-) I found the lapband forum too. I have RA, so I am beginning to wonder if I can even have lapbanding! I do not want to go the route of RNY. I was hoping for something that drops the weight more slowly and less invasive. I would like to have to only have a tummy tuck afterwards. (As a mother of 2 anything that leads to a tummy tuck is a plus! :-p LOL. I am scheduling an appt with my PCP to see if A. my insurance covers Lapbanding and B. if I am even a canditate with Rheumatoid. Keep your fingers crossed! I'll let you know. If anyone has any other info for me, just drop a line!

Hi again Lex!!! I want you to know I can remember being 300 pounds and trying to crouch down in that space to stat IV's and each time I think about it, I thank GOD for my surgery!!! I am so excited for you getting to have reconstructive surgery. Taking bromelain and arnica helped me alot in healing. Google it to see all the benefits. Hope to hear from a soon!!
