Is anyone in this area? I would love to meet people who have had surgery or planning to have surgery. I'm a stay at home mom and would love to be able to have someone to go shopping with or just go to the beach.

Debbie, Welcome to Pinellas County. It's nice here but must've been hard leaving Hawaii? Another OH member who's husband is in the Coast Guard just arrived in Dundein from Elizabeth City, NC. too, Mandy Martell (she posted yesterday). There are several Support Groups who meet monthly in Pinellas County. Which is a small Florida County but with many towns which your sort of in the Western middle of the County. My surgeon, Dr.Rehnke's Support Group is this coming Saturday 11/18/06. Our monthly gastric bypass meeting is at 2:30 pm. The meeting is located in the professional building behind the Palms of Pasadena Hospital. The meeting will be held in the first office building and the address is 1609 Pasadena Ave - St. Petersburg, FL. The format will be: first 15 minutes (+/-) patients will get to tell their stories to prospective patients. Then the groups will be seperated with Dr. Rehnke talking to individuals researching WLS and the other group will be our patients with Dr.Lindsay, one of the Pysch Docs Dr.Rehnke's staff recomends for group discussions. If you have any cloths that are too big please bring them and plan on taking some smaller sizes. A little about me: I've just finished the OH Leadership Program and will be starting a Support Group at the Clearwater YMCA in Janruary for all WLS Post & Pre-Ops plus anyone who is hoping to lose weight. I'm also the 2007 Florida OH Conference Coordinator to be held in Tampa Bay next summer sometime. Plus I'm featured in the current issue of the OH Magazine. Thanks Mike.........we love FL more. My husband is in the Coast Guard and we left Key West to goto Hawaii. I have to tell you after living in both I would have to say Key West is my paradise.
