I used a body pillow before surgery and it was a lifesaver immediately after surgery because it cushioned my belly. I just cant sleep without it comfortably. If you havent considered that, I highly recommend one

I slept with a pillow or my kingsize comforter all wadded up underneith my upper thighs,,,I was a belly/side sleeper too, but I came home with really bad back pains after surgery, but remember you will eventually be able to sleep normal,,,,,

Hi Lisa, I am also a tummy and side sleeper. Once I got into bed on my back, it hurt to move any other way. I eventually passed out from pure exhaustion. But now I sleep on my tummy and side, so it was a small price to pay. The body pillow sounds like a good idea though. Talk to you soon. Christine
