Excersise and me

Hello everyone, You know I never thought I would actually enjoy excersising (sp?). I have started working out everyday for 20 to 30mins at 9am. I am doing really well with sticking with it and never thought this would be possible. I actually didn't know if I could motivate myself to finally get up and excersise. I am doing it though! I really enjoy it and see it helping with taking the lbs. off. I am getting antsy now and really want to know where I stand with my weight loss. I was supposed to have an appt with Dr. Cox today, but can not afford to go back to Ft. Lauderdale this soon. Anyone have any ideas of where to weigh at? Thanks for listening! MICHELLE.

Hey Michelle, glad to see your doing good and excercising. I excercise about 30 minute 4 or 5 times a week. I have no ideas about weighing, unless you try your PCP office or maybe a local clinic or hospital. Good luck.

Hi Michelle, good going on the exercise! If you have a PCP or family Dr. they will let you step in and weigh without an office visit. If you don't then there is always that big scary scale at Publix. I don't know about you, but I don't think I'm up for that just yet! Joy

You can weigh at a County health clinic or in a hospital. Usually there is one in the vitals area and they don't mind you weighing. I don't think I could ever wear at that big scale in Publix. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........maybe that will be my goal when I am thin. Be able to weigh in public. Carol

Speaking of the Publix scale~ That's where Milton (my boyfriend) weigh's. He told me to go weigh there also, but I am definitly not that brave. I may try my PCP though, there scales only go up to 350lbs, so maybe I am there now. I should be, I was 366lbs at my 2nd week post op. Hmm, makes me wonder! Thanks for all your responses

The thought of stepping on a Publix scale makes me shudder. Tooooo many people walking by. I remember waiting and sneaking a peek around to see if the coast was clear but it never was, so I gave up on stepping on to it. And that was when I was when I was barely 200 pounds! Tracey

Hi Michelle, Do you have a dog? Pet Smart has a Banfield vet office in their lobby. When I take my dog up to buy treats I weigh her first. She steps on, if she weighs 50# or less we get the regular treats. If she is over 50# she gets the low-cal treats. The scale is digital and the print out is about shoulder height and small so you could cup your hand over it. The lobby isn't busy weekdays. It could be awkward if you don't have a dog. Check it out! Congratulations on becoming a loser, I'll be joining you soon. Terri
