I am so frustrated I could cry

I can't believe I am still struggling. I just can't seem to get my insurance and my surgeon to see eye to eye. As some of you might remember, I did not need pre authorization for this surgery. It is right in my manual. Gastric bypass approved for morbid obese humans with BMI over 40 or overweight by 100# (same thing isn't it) Anyway, the wls center that helps Dr Webb says they still need a letter so that the hospital will admit me without paying upfront. My insurance says they will send policy section about this but that there isn't a "letter" cause it is ALREADY APPROVED. So here I sit in between the two waiting while my anxieties go up and so does the comfort food. I guess I could try somewhere else but it seemed this would be easy because I was approved by my insurance the FIRST DAY I CALLED THEM. . Sorry such a long whine but I am just ready to eat my "weigh" to crazy. I am really happy for all getting their dates and all the losers..................I just want to join the party

i would march to the surgeons office and sit there until you got what you needed to move forward. it is their responsibility to set up the surgery date for you with the hospital and then the hospital contacts you for pre op stuff. Good Luck to you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. So start squeaking loudly!

Try to see if there is a customer advocate for the company you work for to help in this matter,,,, it may help,,,, I wish you luck,,,

what insurance do you have?

Hang in there Carol...call ChampVA and asked to speak with a patient's advocate. Tell her you need a letter saying you are covered for this service and they should be able to help.
