Question of the Day

Good morning Amy,
Yes something kicked in yesterday afternoon and I have been miserable ever since. I even woke up in the middle of the night to take another antihistamine! Many times it is the change in the weather that sets me off. Runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing, the whole nine yards.
The worst things? Perfume, cigarette smoke, dust, mold and even a change in the weather! Red wine and wearing my reading glasses in the early morning (pressure on my nose), sometimes red wine does it too! I have had people sit in front of me at church that is dripping in perfume that will just do me in. We don't have people smoke in restaurants now but the "pack of puffers" who lines themselves up at the front door so they can get the last drag can be a challenge. It's like walking a smoky gauntlet!
I don't think the smokers and the perfumers know how they smell and how their smell can send someone into an allergic reaction. I have learned to take a preventative antihistamine before going out to eat and before church. Otherwise I will sneeze and blow the whole time.
I hope the allergies will not be a problem while in the hospital. That would be a bummer.
Good question. Have a nice day!
I'm allergic to bees or any other type of sting or bite(get hives really bad and sick as a dog) I'm also allergic to some chocolate, especially the coated ice cream choc, i do eat some choc once in awhile(till i have my surgery of course). I've also noticed in the last few yrs i've been having allergic reactions to the blossoms on fruit trees or jasmine.....alot in the neighborhood. Anyways hope everyone has a great weekend and take care. Tammy
My doctor says I have those allergy eyes..dark circles under them...(I think it is 3 kids and no sleep). I have sinus issues for years, but now I get hives from who knows what. Usually I get hives from dust...I had a pet rat a couple years back and got hives when I touched her. Someday I will go get tested and seee what I am really allergic too. I do have Zyrtec and Clarinex handy for all my complaints.

Hi Amy,
yes, I do suffer from allergies. I take medicine daily and have for quite a few years. Most trees, grass, mold, pollen, dust, pet dander, certain perfumes and many other things drive me crazy. I guess it doesn't help that Omar and I have a cat and a dog (lol) but they are my kids and help me mentally most days. Hope you feel better.
Sincerely,
Dawn
