Hi Everyone, I am so anxious to have this surgery with Dr. Murr. I hope to have my LAST visit with Spectra tomorrow. (the nutritionist had to see me 2 extra times) After that they send the records to Dr. Murr's office who then calls to schedule an appointment, and the insurance process starts after that. I am thinking that I may be headed for a late October, early November surgery date. I don't even care if my Thanksgiving is soup! I am just so ready for my new life to begin. Can anyone else give me insight as to what their timeline was like at the point I am at? Maybe November is too wishful? Thanks for all of your help!

Hello..I can't give you any insight into how long it will take, as I am in the same boat as you..my paperwork was submitted to my insurance company on the 16th, so now it is just waiting, waiting, waiting....but from reading the posts...it looks like it really differs from each insurance company and from each individual...what your conditions are, etc...The only thing I can say is be patient ( not that encouraging, I know!)...I have been using this time to do as much research to prepare myself for "the otherside,"..and I have been trying to make small changes and using this time to be really conscience of all my actions that contribute to my obesity and things that I am still going to have to work on afterwards.....Best of Luck..and Keep Faith ~ Tricia

Laurie, I'm in the same boat as you, only rowing from farther back! I'm also hoping for a mid to late Oct. date. The surgeon's office was going to submit my files for pre-approval today. I'm not sure if it was being fax'd or mailed. Tracy, the insurance gal, was going to call BCBS to find out exactly how & where to submit it but had to call me to get their Customer Service phone number. I'm hoping she was able to fax it but I'll wait till next week to call and ask her. (I really don't want to be a pest) Hang in there. We'll just have to be patient together! Vickie J.

Laurie, it really depends on how fast your insurance company approves you, and how far out Dr. Murr is scheduling. I know at one time he was scheduling 3-4 months out, I don't know what his time table is now. Insuarnce approval can take anywhere from 24 hours to 6 weeks, for the first approval or denial. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but it could be anywhere from October to January or ? Just hang in there, your day will come, I know it seems like it won't come fast enough, but it will come. good luck.
