Dating post WLS?

Hi everyone, I haven't dated since my divorce (3 years) and I was hoping things would improve after WLS. Does anyone have any uplifting stories about dating post WLS? Did anyone notice a big difference in their romatic lives after the surgery? Also, how/when do you approach the subject to someone new in your life, like: "I used to be really big, and had WLS"??!! I'm clueless...

Flavia, I can't help you. My wife wouldn't let me date before surgery, and she won't let me date now that I'm post-op either. Good luck, I hope someone else has a better answer.

Flavia, you have to read the story that Barbie Carroll posted on 9/20 about her romantic encounter on the airplane. It will definiely lift your spirits. I know there has got to be a good message board on dating pre and post op. I just don't know where it is. If I find it, I will surely tell you about it!

Flavia, I'm not ready to date yet, mostly because I want to focus my energy on me and my weightloss for a while longer and no one else. Call me Selfish ! But eventually, I would love to meet a guy who had also had WLS so they could relate to me and the struggles before and after WLS, but that may be wishful thinking. BTW, I have been to the Dating message board but it moves really slow, so I stopped going. If things have changed there, let me know Amy -92lbs.

I am married and I met my husband through Great Expectations, a dating service. They were the best dates ever! You get to choose who would like to go out with and it is safe...they do background checks, etc... You might want to try it.
