Day 5 Smokefree!!
Five days is terrific!
I quit smoking about 5 years ago and it was one of the hardest things I ever did. You should be so proud of yourself!
It does get easier. I am so sensitive to smoke now, it's unreal to think I ever did smoke. I can smell a smoker a mile away.
You will gradually regain some of the sense of taste and smell you lost when you smoked, and that will be an "a-ha!" moment.
Keep up the hard work, we know it's not easy!

Elaine,
Keep it up your doing terrific!
5 days is wonderful!
I keep telling myself I am going to quit, but its just not happening. I did quit pre-op per the surgeons orders, but then I started back again a couple weeks post-op. I actually smoke more now then I did before, I think the cigs are taking the place of the food I can no longer eat!
Best of luck!
Michelle

Congratulations,,, I know how hard it is to stop I have done it 4 times already.. The last time I went to a job that they said the Sheriff didn't want you smoking on duty. I was a Sheriff's dispatcher.. But when I got there everyone smoked but me.. But I took it in stride and stayed quit. The last time was 6 years ago and I am still smoke free. Good luck I know how hard it was to quit when others smoked around me. I will know how it feels to not eat after 11/9/04 my surgery date...
