My 1st Plateau
For someone who was so prepared for the after-effects of the surgery....here I am a nervous wreck, 1/2 in tears. I've hit my 1st plateau I think. I am stuck at 208lbs. and have been for a week. I mean, I've lost 42 lbs. and all was good and then BAM, stuck. My protein intake is good, not great...about 58-60 grams a day. My water is what it is, I get in as much as possible, let's just say it's all I drink except my one cup of coffee. What else can I do???? Do I really have to just weight it out or is there something I can do to jump start this process again. Have I done something wrong????
Seriously freaking out regardless of normal mental stability,
Danielle

Danielle, you don't know that you've hit a plateau yet! A one week period of time with no loss might mean the moon is full, or is waning or you just had your period or you might get your period or you had too much salt or you didn't walk enough or you weighed on a Thursday.
In other words, it could be anything and you shouldn't sweat it for a second!! Keep getting in as much protein as you can (I'm at about 90-100 per day) and that all-importan****er and make sure you're exercising, because the loss won't be automatic forever, so good habits start early. I'm having fun at the gym, but I only do what I enjoy so that I'll stick with it.
You'll be fine, I promise!!

Man.............I hate that you are on a plateau................almost as bad as I hate I AM ON ONE. Seems I am stuck at -42# also. Been here a week and nothing seems to change it. I was thinking of writing something about it when I saw your post. Guess we really ARE twins in this. I am doing the protein, the water, the walking.........it just sits there. Since I don't have a normal mental stability......
I really have just been a little
over this. Of course, Danielle, you know we have read this about others. Just thought I might not do it.
Guess we just do what others do. Change around eating habits and see if it helps.
Good luck,
Carol
-42# & holding

Danielle,
You are doing so wonderfully at this point, I would not worry about it. It's very normal to plateau. It comes with the territory I think. I was stuck for a while and then in the last week alone have lost 5lbs!
You are doing everything correctly from what it sounds like, just wait till next week and I am sure the weight will begin to fall off again!
Dont worry yourself to much!
MICHELLE.
Dannielle,
See, the scale is moving again
! You are doing a great job and have more "honeymoon" time to take advantage of your fast weightloss. I know it is a little frustrating when it stalls, I've been dealing with that for a while now, my weightloss has slowed down A LOT but I am still losing inches and feel even more energy every week.
I still have 100lbs left to lose but I have to accept the fact that it might take me a very long time to accomplish that. I keep reminding myself this isn't a race and the benefits I have seen are amazing. Plus, it will give me more time to save more money for my PS which I am anticipating will not be approved thru the normal insurance means. See, I'm still trying to convince myself
Hang in there, you will be just fine.
Amy
