Primary Care on south side of Miami

Can anyone recommend a primary care physician on the south side of miami who is knowledgeable about RNY? --Jenie

Is this for pre-op support or post-op support? I'm not sure if you are looking for a PCP for after-care or if you are seeking out a weight loss surgery friendly PCP. I have an excellent PCP who is in South Miami on 87th Ave. and Sunset. He and his staff are very obese friendly and he is knowledgable about the RNY. He won't recommend surgery unless you've tried everything else, and he wouldn't recommend it on your first visit. I had been seeing him for almost a year before we decided surgery was my only option. I am paying cash. So I don't "need" a referral for the surgery, but myinsurance may pay for the labs/tests if they are recommended by my primary care phys. I hsaven't had a primary care in 2 years (only the chiropractor). the last 2 before that were not obese friendly (get counseling, stop eating and the fat and pain will go away!) Thanks for any input.

Well I go to my PCP who is Primcare Medical in Coral Gables 305-443-3001. My surgeon was Dr. Rabaza @ 305-271-9777. They are both great and my surgeon is part of a wonderful team, any of them are great.

I also had Dr. Rabaza and would highly, highly recommend him. Dr. Verdeja and Dr. Gonzalez are also excellent surgeons and were instrumental in my aftercare. They are all amazing and very caring surgeons. You can read more about them at miamihope.com (don't forget to add the www.)

well im having surgery with dr. rabazza and his from the miami hope center which he actually works wit 2 other dr called gonzalez and verdeja and gonzalez has a cousin which is DR. MANNY GONZALEZ (my pcp) he is on 67 and sunset drive 305-663-0710 he is great I have been seeing him and i will never go back to any other DR. so try it out. goodluck...
