Vitamin Poll
Hey all! I was just wondering what kinds of vitamins everyone is taking and have found to be the easiest to manage. I am going to GNC today to find some others because the protein shake i have been taking has all the vitamins in it, but i no longer want that particular shake. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Phoenix,
My Dr. recommends 2 Flinstone chewables in the beginning. I take 2 Centrum vitamins, now. Also, a Calcium supplement as well. They have calcium chewables out there now. GNC has a subligual B vitamins that in my opinion needs to be chased with some water. (Its awful) Way to go on your weight loss, by the way. Good luck

First out I took Flintstones chewables, but after my 6 week checkup I was put on pre-natal vitamins. I was surprised I thought I would always be on chewables. I also take 1 325mg of iron a day...been on that since before surgery. Actually, at one point before surgery I was on it 3x a day, my count was an 8.9, suppose to be 11-14, but the doc never found a reason. Anyway, both of those are prescriptions. I also use GNC B-12 sublinguals...but as with the others did not start taking B12 until my doctor advised it.

I am taking bariatric multivitamins sold at my surgeon's office. Of course, they recommed those because they had them "specially formulated" for their patients. In another week (at 1 month post op), I will also begin taking calcium and iron, also the "special" ones from the dr.
I wonder in the back of my mind if their special vitamins are a money making ploy? Once I start taking all 3 types, it will run about $30 month. How does this compare to what others are paying for their vitamins? How much do you spend a month on the Flinstones, for example?

I take the ones sold through my doc's group, US Bariatric. The are called Building Blocks, and I get the chewables. The multi tastes like fruit punch, and the calcium tastes like cocoa.

I have 4 capsules I open & add to my drinks and there are two liquid caps omega 3 & vit E I'm saving for when I get the okay to take. There is no taste I have noticed with all I'm getting and now is when my body really needs these supplements and I wasn't going to chance it to another company. They are pricey but I'm worth it for sure and DH takes the same as well. I would much rather have a chewable "adult" vitamin but have not found one that delivers what my body is use to.
I'm also was and am now taking 1200 mg of calicum (2 more caps to open) ...takes me so long to prepare for well worth it. My surgeon's office was impressed with these prior to surgery and told me to continue them right up to surgery and after.
