~*~New to the Boards~*~

Hi all, My name is April and I am new to the boards here at OH, though I have to admit I have been lurking for a few weeks. I finally got the courage to say Hello to all . I am Pre-op, currently looking for Vocational Rehab to provide services for my surgery. I have already went for my initial consultation with Dr. Jawad in Ocala. I didn't get to meet him but his staff seem nice! Anyway Sorry for rambling, and can't wait to get to know everyone much better!! *~April~*

Welcome to the boards. I had my surgery with Dr Jawad on nov 9th last year . I am down 68 pounds in 12 weeks. My wife had her's July 29th 2003 and she is down 107 pounds. Dr jawad is the bomb at this surgery. Do you have the information om his group meetings the last thursday of each month. Also how hard is voc rehab to get approval from. We have a lady at our church who has medicaid and medicare and cannot find a dr to accept it. Who can she call at voc rehab to see if they can help her.

Sorry for the Hijack.... Jerry, I don't remember who it was, but someone posted not too long ago that they found a doc who accepted Medicare/Medicaid. If my memory isn't having a power shortage at the moment, I believe the doc was in the Ft. Lauderdale area, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe you could post a "Mayday" and find out who posted & who is the doctor. Congrats to you & your wife. Tell the woman at your church, to hang in there - it is worth it in the end!! Vickie J.

April, Welcome!! I must tell you I love Dr. Jawad! He did my surgery 10 wks ago and I have felt wonderful not to mention the 51.5 lbs I have lost! He really knows his stuff! You are in good hands and hope for a speedy approval for you! Rhonda
