Does Quest do breath tests?

Does anyone know if Quest labs do H pylori breath tests? Specifically ones in the Miami area? My doctors office gave me and order for the UMHC lab, but my insurance doesn't cover them. So they gave me an order for Quest but said they didn't think Quest did them...maybe it's just the Quest there at UMHC. The Quest website had information on the breath test but the location pages does not specifically state which tests they do. I need to get this done ASAP so I get start taking my Protonix again...I can really feel the effects of being off of it, and I know it will take a couple weeks to feel relief once I start taking it again.

Call up each lab individually and ask (yellow pages should have them or try the yellow pages on yahoo). They can also tell you how much it will cost you if they do offer it. And if nothing else, maybe they can tell you who does offer it.

From what I know H Pylori can be tested for by a biopsy from the stomach, blood test and breath test. Not sure why one is chosen over the other. I had the blood test in December, it was positive, I was given medication and now must do a follow-up breath test to see if the medication worked. There might be another reason your surgeon wants to do a scope.

To see if I have H Pylori, a bacteria in my stomach that can cause ulcers. I had a blood test and it was postive, I was on a regiment of antibiotics and protonix for 10 days and now I need to have a follow-up test to see if the H pylori is gone.
