OT: Sexual Predators

In light of the recent horrible deaths of two of our young ladies here in Florida I thought I would post this website: (http://www)3.fdle.state.fl.us/sexual_predators/ At this website you can type in your zip code and see if there are any registered predators living near you. I think everyone should be aware. teach your children to be aware and protect them the best you can. I realize this is way off topic but thought it was important. Patty

Hey Patty, Yes those deaths were horrible...I work for the Parole Commission and I am one of people who place warrants out for people like those who did that to those little precious girls. Trust me I take pleasure in making sure that they are stopped. But was makes me so angry is why they were let out on parole or probation in the first place. But thanks for putting that website up, it can really help a lot of people watch out for those predators... Cathy

Hey Cathy, thanks...I know what you mean, my daughter is a Child Protective Investigator and she helps put those kind of people in jail only to see them get out and hurt someone else. If this website helps one person, it's worth it. Patty

I just had major problems with my apt complex because they are not informing new residents of a sex offender living in our complex. I was talking to an upstairs neighbor about how nice a lady seemed talking to the kids every day as they got off the bus. She said thats not a nice lady and don't let her talk to your kids she is a sexual offender. She gave me the link and told me to look her up and she did something to a child

under 16. It upset me immensly and went to the complex manager, she said she did not know the woman was living here and said she would contact the police about her talking to school kids. I'm not sure if she still lives here, as I've not seen her recently. I also noticed when looking up our general area that alot of them live near schools and parks, that sickens me. I know they are not allowed to live like within 500 ft or so but, they are very close. I think all parents need to check into the area they live in, and if there kids walk to school or friends see if there is anyone who lives along that route.I know I am more aware of it now and will always check into it before I move someplace.

It is an important web site to visit, but everyone note these are the folks who got CAUGHT only. There is a guy who lives with his parents down the street from me. Last year, he was at a buddy's house and ended up abducting the buddy's daughter while everyone was sleeping off some beer in the middle of the night. The little girl (11) woke up in the guy's car while he was fondling himself. The brave little thing pummeled the guy and jumped out of the car, ran for help. BUT...his buddy did NOT press charges!! So, *technically* we have a sexual offender and predator in our neighborhood, but legally we have no recourse. We are within 250 yards of an elementary school. So - be aware, be vigilent, and report.
