Aetna denied me

They denied you?!? Please keep us posted on your appeals and know that we are all here on your side. I can't believe they denied your request, be sure and double check all of the documents that were sent in. I have UHC and for my doctor's supervised diet they wanted the "clinical notes" from my PCP. Were those what were sent in? They wouldn't just accept a letter from my PCP stating he had supervised my diet and given me nutritional counseling, they wanted to see the clinical notes. Hi Shayna, Yes! I gave them doctors notes and monthly weigh ins at his office. That is why I do not know what else they want. I switched docs in the middle of the 6 month diet because the first doc was useless and I could not get "good" notes from him but he did notate that I was following a diet and my weight. I'm confused. If anyone that knows how to appeal, I would be very grateful for your tips. Sallykate

Good 'ol Aetna. They denied and denied me until we used the "right" language (as if they didn't know what we were asking)! Hang is there, and be persistent. Aetna loves to stall, so you just have to keep fighting and don't give up!! Kristen
