I am so confused.

Someone maybe shed some light for me. My pcp is thru tricare prime. He sent a surgical request to Dr Wilsons office. Last week I called them they told me they would not take my insurance becuase I have Medicare as my primary insurance. So I found a doctor in Louisiana that would take my insurance. In the mean time I called today to see if my claim from here had been placed. Now this really blows my mind. I was approved thru tricare with Dr Wilson in Panama City May 3. My appt here is at 3pm. I am so totally confused now I cant think straight. Well Lexas not here so I guess I will have to wait and let them explain. I hope someone can. Dont know what to do next???????

Gosh, I'm sorry you are having problems like that. I ran into something even stranger - a doctor who would not take me as a complete self-pay (hospital & his fees) because I also had Medicare. I don't have any other insurance however. And I know a lot of doctor's don't want to take medicare because, as I understand it, medicare only covers the open surgery, not the lap. So I have Medicare for the hospital, and I'm paying my surgeon's fees upfront. Keep checking & calling around. I hope you get things worked out, don't give up! K

Thanks KG I spoke with Dr Thomas today he assured me I would be approved. They are some wonderful people there. Sorry I had last minute jitters and hit the panic button. I have to get a pulmonary test sleep apnea test. gall bladder test a breathing test and blood work. When these tests are complete I will be scheduled for preop then. I am back in Florida now. We just got home.
