G-tube woes
Any body want to share any G-tube stories... I have had just about enough of mine. I haven't needed it from day 1 for fluids or protein. After two weeks, they said no need ot dress it any more. That was until it started seeping this thick, yellow drainage, that does a number on a work shirt. And, it's actually starting to hurt inside where the tube is. I talked wiht the dock and a couple of other patients and they say this is normal. I had little if any pain or discomfort through surgery and afterwards. the discomfort this thing is causing now is the worst part of post op.
Any thoughts?
I agree with you. Mine felt as though it was trying to attach itself to the muscles and caused me a lot a pain when I got up and down out of the recliner. I would have almost begged to get it removed. Thank goodness I had it for 2 weeks only. I was told to put zinc oxide on it to stop it from infection.
Ted, I feel for you
I hated
my G-tube!!! Check out my profile on the subject. All I can say is grin and bear it. You'll feel great once it's removed, and it won't be long. Keep neosporin and a dressing on it and try taping it in different directions to see if that helps decrease the pain. Good luck!
Hugs,
Dru

Hi Ted...I had Dr. Jawad also. My surgery was Feb. 8th of this year. That !@@##$$ G-tube is there for 6 weeks! I always had mine taped snug to my belly. I would put it in different positions before I taped it to see what was more comfortable. On Dr. Jawad's forum the other day there was a lady that wrote Sylvia because her G-tube just slid out!!! His methods seem drastic at times but when I look back I can see just how thorough he was. TRUST HIM....
