Nasty taste and dry mouth

each night i am awaken by a very nasty taste i my mouth and dry mouth anyone have this problems and have any suggestions to how to fix it

I wake up every morning like that, though the nasty taste is lessening as time passes. I'm 6 months post-op now. I keep a bottle of water by my bed for the dry mouth. I never did figure out what to do for the nasty taste other than brush my teeth and tongue really well in the morning and before bed.
