What kind of foods at 6 weeks
Sandy,
At 6 weeks in addition to the typical "soft foods" I was eating salad (lettuce, tomato, cukes, onions) pork tenderloin, moist chicken breast, tender roast beef, almost any cooked veggie, well cooked pasta and cheese toast. Apparently, this is a bit unusual, but my surgeon encourages you to eat "normal" foods after the first few weeks but tells us to introduce new foods one at a time and wait to see how it agrees with you. Of course, I could only eat a little bit of anything and I chewed it to death, just to be safe. (I use a seafood fork & baby serving spoon to help me keep my bites small)
From what I seen on the boards, I've been extremely lucky b/c nothing has upset my pouch but I've also tried not to pu**** too much. I still don't eat rice or popcorn, anything with more than 5 or 6 grams of sugar and bread (other than cheese toast). At 4 months out, I'm down 67 lbs and feeling great!
Follow your surgeon's food plan, drink all your liquids, walk as much as you can and you'll do fine!

HI
EGGS AND CHEESE WERE A BIGGIE. MAINLY EGG BEATERS. I STILL EAT EGG BEATERS EVERY DAY AND I AM ALMOST AT A YEAR. I AGREE, EACH DOCTOR HAS HIS OWN VIEW. PROTEIN SEEMS TO BE PRETTY UNIVERSAL IN BEING YOUR MAIN THING TO EAT. I STILL EAT PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THREE THINGS EVERY DAY. I JUST DONT BOTHER. I GUESS I AM STILL AFRAID I WILL START OVER EATING ETC. I STILL KEEP A BOWL OF XTRA FIRM JELLO AROUND IN CASE I FEEL LIKE NIBBLING. GOOD LUCK, REALLY. LIZZ
