Plateau!!!!!!!
Hi,
I had surgery on 11/26/04 and I was 297 the day of surgery and I have been stuck at 200-201 for what seems to be forever. I have not lost or gained anything in about 4-6 weeks. I am starting a liquid protein diet today for the next 7 days and hopefully break this darn plateau. Anyone out there have any suggestions about getting out of this plateau.
Thanks,
Gesell
Sarah Bash sent me this plateau buster plan:
How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily
Perhaps this may help.
Blessings,
Tami
This looks like a good plan.I am going to try it. I've also been on a plateau. Our bodies do have a lot to get used to and quick. I am just trying to remember that I didn't put all of the weight on in 1-3 yrs, and it's ok to have a slow few weeks every now and then. But I do get so used to losing quickly that I expect the pounds to keep coming off quickly, and daily. I've got to learn more
patience..LOL Good luck guys, and hang in there!

Good luck on breaking the plateau. Like you, I am on a blasted plateau and been there about 7 weeks. I have sit on 208# now until I could scream. I have just been so down about it and so I will try the plateau buster also.
Hang in there, Gesell. I know you are going to get past this. (Hope I do too)

Hang in there!!!! It happens. I had a big one at 4 -5 month and it lasted 6-7weeks...I just kept doing the things I was doing. It's the body adjusting to all the changes. If you feel like going back to liquids, soft foods for a little bit - then do it but you'll be fine and you will move out of it. Keep up the good work!!
