Florida Residents? With Aetna Insurance?
I had Aetna HMO and it was excluded except for cases of medical necessity. It depends on what your "fine print" says. If it's excluded because your employer is self-insured, that's a problem. Or if your employer didn't pay for WLS coverage as a benefit, then it may also be a problem. What does your fine print say??
Fight the good fight.

I do not have great news for you
I also have Aetna HMO, I fought with them till I was blue in the face and ended up refinancing my house to pay for the surgery. Good Luck, I would love to hear if you can beat those suckers down and get approved!
What is most frustrating is if I had applied just a little bit before I started this whole mess (about two years ago) they probably would have approved me in a day.
"Times, they are a changin'"

I have Aetna POS and had absolutely no problems with them at all. I got approved within 2 hours of submitting my paperwork, and they paid 100%. But I can give a little advice, make sure you have a DR documented diet for at least 3 months they told my dr office thats why they approved me so quick.
Good Luck
