I have neropathy really bad and my feet hurt to the point to where i can not even wear closed shoes. I have told my doctor over and over again that i need something for the pain and he just tells me to walk. Well if i was not in so much pain maybe i could. im not whinnying about it i just want to know if anyone out there knows of anything i can do. I wear open shoes to work mostly berkistocks because i cant bear the pain of wearing high heel shoes or flats. im at my wits end with this and sometimes it feels like i have knives going in and out of my feet. my toes are numb to the point where i was getting a pedicure and i could not even feel the lady touching my feet. sometimes i wake up at night because the pain is so bad. I have never in my life experiecned so much pain to be honest i think i would rather have 45 kids then have this problem, at least then you know the pain will go away. PLEASE HELP!

Emily, If you don't like the care your are receiving then get yourself to another doctor ASAP. I've been in that situation twice...the first time it was almost 2 years before I got the answers I deserved...the most recent time, after the second visit I was OUTTA there...just recently found out in that short time I was mistreated, wasn't given enought coumadin and have possibly had a mini-stroke because of it. I had the same problem and went to a Neurologist. He put me on a prescription vitamin and did all sorts of tests to rule out any other problems. I was so numb and hurting and I started the vitamins almost a month ago and almost have total feeling back in both legs and feet. And there is no more of the tingling pain and stuff any longer. If I were you, I would get to a different doctor who will take the time and help you out. Good luck!
