Hi from a new Floridian (pre-op)

I have been reading the boards for a couple of months now. I made the move to Florida from Atlanta a few weeks ago and have started the process to have surgery, so I think it's time to start posting. I have learned so much from these message boards already, in addition to a few books I have, that I have felt well-prepared for each step - so far. I'm sure that once I have the surgery, there will a lot more unknowns. It's so great that there is a place to get advice from people who know what it's like! Nice to meet everyone.

Hi Brenda, I am a Floridian wanna-be Really my family and I will be moving at the end of September/October to Bradenton/Sarasota area. We are very excited! No more snow!! I am pre-op and just started my 6 month diet and had my sleep study done. Dana

Hi Brenda! I have been here since the last hurricane...seriously we moved here from Alabama the weekend of the last hurricane! I live over here in Cape Coral and I LOVE it! I had my sugery May of 2004. I was 259 the day of surgery and I am at 143 now! It is truely a new lease on life! Let me know if I can personallly help you in any way. I have not found a support group here in Fla. but am still looking! We are pretty close neighbors....maybe we could support each other? WELCOME TO FLORIDA!! Vicky
