ulcer near my pouch

Ok, here I go again. We think I have an duodenal ulcer? Am on carafate. Had surgery 5/25, gallbladder romoved 8/18, and now this ulcer? Its pretty painful in the abdomal area, not as bad as gallbladder, but its nasty. Hard to eat. Anyone else had this that can share some insight? Blessings, Tami

Tami, Have they done an Endoscopy to confirm it? I just had mine done Tuesday and have an ulcer that covers about 70 percent of my pouch. I am also on Carafate. The pain is horrid. Worse than childbirth because at least you know that would end sometime. If you are not on some type of acid blocker you may want to check with the doc to see if they want to start one. I am on one calle Protonixs and it seems to help alot. It is once a day. Email me if you have questions. Hope you feel better soon. Kat
