cold....

Hi everyone...it has been a while since I posted...computer went down and I have been sharing one with boyfriend but haven't felt like getting on really....first off I want to wish everyone a HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS!!!!!.....I have been doing fairly well...I am just over 8 weeks out and down 75 lbs...woohoo me lol anyhow...I have a horrible head cold and sore throat...what can we take and what can we not take???? I hate feeling miserable....I had to go to 3 funerals last week and the last one was in the chilly rainy weather so I am sure that is where this came from...thank you for any help in advance...I need to feel better... take care and I promise to post more often... love to all April

April, Check with your doc but mine says I can take anything over the counter the does NOT contain NSAIDS. Before wls I used Alka Seltzer Cold which is an approved OTC med but haven't tried it since surgery b/c I don't know if I could drink it all. Hope you feel better soon! Vickie J.

Hi Vickie, thanks for the help...I could do Alka Seltzer before surgery..not sure I could do it now...lol...but thank you...gonna call the dr's office now to see what I can take April

i would not try Alka Seltzer the bubbles might make your tummy rumble. thats my opion.

Sorry I can't help you with your cold but I wanted to say how good it is o see you. 75 lbs in 8 weeks is incredible! See you soon.

I called my Dr.s' office when I got a cold and they told me NOT to take the Alka Seltzer Cold (or any of their products, because of the content). Alka Seltzer was my friend when I had a cold!!!! Wahhhhhhh! The Dr. suggested for me to use anything in the TYLENOL line would be safe. I told them I bought some Zicam and Coldeeze because they were homopathic - Dr. said it would be okay for those. I took the Zicam Melt Tablets, they taste ok...not the best. I never got the full-blown cold, and on my 3rd day most of the BIG symptoms went away.
