Hi. I am a full time student in college, and I have a full time job. I do not have insurance and I was wondering if anyone out there was able to get assistance outside of insurance, or if you know of any agencies that could help. Thanks. Summer

Hi Summer, I think most of your doctors offices will supply you with information on getting a loan for self pay. Have you talked to the accounting people at your doctor's office? Good Luck, Carol

Someone in my support group is going thru the State office of Vocational Rehab and they are paying for the entire surgery. Might be worth a look see. Also, check out my profile. There's some info there as well. If you'd like the email address of the person in my support group, please let me know. I'll be happy to have her email you with the info. La Wanda

Sure. That would be great. I have heard some people say they got help that way, but I'm unclear on how to start everything. Thank you so much for taking time to respond! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Summer

Hi Summer! I looked into voc rehab in FL and they require a years worth of medical records before they will start sending it to different doctors for approval. That's if their policies do not change with in the year. I was pretty upset but I have started seeing a doctor anyway. In the mean time I am looking into a program in Mexico with Dr. Joya who charges $12,500 for the surgery, airfair, hotel, and hospital. As far as voc rehab goes I got their number off their web site and they mailed me an application, when they got it back scheduled an appointment with a rep. He's who told me about the whole year stuff. So basically my application is on hold till I call him back ina year! Stinks, huh? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Fell free to e-mail me any time!!
