Personal Letters to the ins company
Hi all! Hope everyone's holidays were wonderful ...
I'm relatively new to the messageboard scene, have been lurking for several months and researching WLS/trying to get approved for 2½ yrs now.
I have questions regarding sending a personal letter of your own to your ins co, along with the request for WLS approval ... should you or shouldn't you? If so, how long or short should it be? Lots of details or not?
I've had mixed emotions on this subject and could definitely use some advice/insight on this from those who've been down this road ...
Thanks bunches,
Erin

HI Erin,
Ocala Jan used to have sample letters on her profile that were really well written and helpful. Here is her profile link:

Sallykate was close. I'm Jan Ocala, not Ocala Jan!!!
Anyway, I like to write and getting my own thoughts into a letter to Aetna was very cathartic to me! It was just something that I had to do for myself. I enclosed the picture of me walking away from the camera (the one in my profile) and you'll see I also cc: an attorney, so Aetna knew I was serious. Of course, I had the permission of the attorney before I did that!! I wonder whatever happened to Joe!! Anyway, I digress.
I don't know what it was that worked, but somewhere in the 60 or so pages of my life that was faxed to Aetna, they decided to say yes and in under 24 hours!
Good luck!!
Jan

So sorry about that name mix up Jan. Hehe Ocala Jan does sound like an old western outlaw character or something! LOL
I checked out your profile as I have not been there in ages and WOW! Your a hot mama girl! I am so impressed with how you have done on your journey. You deserve every bit of your new found freedom and happiness....enjoy it!
Sallykate

I had a chance to read both of your stories, and can I just say CONGRATS to you both. You look fabulous!
Sallykate, I notice you're from BC ... so I have to ask ... why in heaven's name would you move from there to FL??? Too funny, you came here from there, and I'm wanting out of FL to go to MT and even be closer to BC!
Thanks again for the great advice!
Erin
