Has anyone had lap band surgery with Dr. Jawad? What was your experience and outcome? How long ago?

i know several people who had lap band surgery with dr jawad.. he is awesome and his aftercare is also wonderful.. I personally had rny and so did my boyfriend... jawad has a site www.jawadmd.com and there is a forum where you can talk to lots of people.. You are making a wonderful choice with dr jawad.. i am 9 months post op and my boyfriend is 2 months post op...no complications and everything is going wonderfully.. the people at the office are very accessible and very personable... I will be interested in any responses. I know he has done about 250 lap bands so he is very experienced. I am having a conference call with BCBS on Monday and with Odalys to try to get straight if they will cover the lap band. It is very frustrating - I can't seem to get the same answer the doctor's office does. Best of luck to you!

Sorry I couldn't get back to you, Mary! Every time you talk to the insurance company you're likely to get another answer!! This is the most frustrating part of the whole experience, but hang in there and be patient. Odalys in Dr. Jawad's office does this all day long for all their patients! Personally I'd have quit long ago! Dealing with insurance companies is not fun!!! Jan

or far i have heard nothing but good stuff on him. I too get two different answers between the insurance and the doctors office. Today I found out I cant have lap band because of a prior surgery I had on my stomach. I won't do the gastric bypass so I guess I just live fat. Good Luck
