Unless United has changed a lot in the past couple years, you should be able to find a surgeon who accepts United PPO in South FL. I had United when I started wholeheartedly researching WLS. After I saw some of the hoops a peer from work went thru with United PPO, I wound up switching insurers during our annual enrollment and got approved in a matter of days with CoreSource PPO. But don't be discouraged, I know many others who had no problems getting approval from United. You should also call United and find out what their requirements are for the surgery and make sure you have all those covered. I'm sorry to say, but the bigger challenge might be finding a surgeon who will perform surgery on you since you are so young, but I know there are some who will do it. My surgeon won't take on young patients (under 21)without compelling cir****tances. You may need to drive some distance to find a doctor, many of us had to do that to get our WLS. This can be a long, tedious process so be patient and diligent in your pursuit. Good luck! Amy

Jasmine, contact United and they should be able to give you a list of surgeons in your area that accept your insurance. Or go to your plan administator, they should have a provider book. Good Luck, Steve
