in my daughter's eyes
so once i came out of intensive care my husband and two children came to visit me in the hospital. my daughter(she's 4) has never looked at me so intently before, but i still had IVs and wires so i didn't think too much of it. my hubby gives me the family update and tells me that he has informed them of the purpose of my surgery. which i wasn't too happy about because i thought they were to little and i didn't want them to misunderstand yadda yadda...so just as i'm telling my husband this-mind you he has our daughter on his hip and she leans in close to him and says,"she doesn't LOOK any DIFFERENT!" HAAAAAAAAA...yea i wi**** worked THAT FAST!
I agree. I had to figure out a way to tactfully tell my daughter about my surgery .. she is 8 1/2 and will have a difficult time with her weight as well .. I didn't want to think that this was the only way out. So, I explained that "mommy needed to get healthy, and that I was going to have surgery to help me lose wt and to get thinner". It was a few weeks later, when I discovered that she was under the impression that I was going to come home from the hospital THIN. Don't I wish that were the case!! I explained things further and she understands now ..
