Had to tell a funny story. I had my surg 15 months ago, lost 100 pounds. I have loose skin on my tummy,legs and arms. I'm a Dental Hygienist. We do light sedation. The pts can talk but they don't remember what happens. We were treating a sedated pt. I leaned over to secure the pts hands,as she was being given the injection. She got loose and grabbed the loose,flabby skin hanging from my left arm. She proceded to squeese and twist my skin till I managed to break away!! It left a bruise. I told my boss I was going to get workmans comp to pay for my plastic surg on my arms. My coworkers said I would look pretty funny with only 1 arm done since only 1 arm was grabbed. I agree. I had to figure out a way to tactfully tell my daughter about my surgery .. she is 8 1/2 and will have a difficult time with her weight as well .. I didn't want to think that this was the only way out. So, I explained that "mommy needed to get healthy, and that I was going to have surgery to help me lose wt and to get thinner". It was a few weeks later, when I discovered that she was under the impression that I was going to come home from the hospital THIN. Don't I wish that were the case!! I explained things further and she understands now ..
