Destroying heart muscle??
This is not to scare Shree though it probably will. Shree, forgive me, but you've brought this to mind.
Has anyone heard of WLS patients losing heart muscle as well as body muscle. I just read and many of you probably did too about a guy that passed away having lost 200 on his own...it was through very strict diet, not WLS. Tests showed his heart muscle had been weakened by a lack of proper diet.
Itmakes sense to me that we certainly need to get our protein in and work these muscles to keep them healthy. I mean, if the heart is a muscle, why WOULDN'T it be affected? Someone going to the doctor soon, ask for us! We don't wanna steal from muscle mass people. We're trying to lose FAT....not muscle.

I'm afraid you are right on the money here Joyce. Without adequate protien our muscles lose mass, this includes not only the heart muscle but all the other internal organs... yep, all muscles. Vitamin deficieny can also attribute to heart and other organ problems.
It is so important, VITAL, to get our protien and vitamins in.
